About Us: Company Profile
Our Mission Statement
The core values of Synectic Design are: innovation, market leading product design, and customer satisfaction. We achieve these by being continuously innovative with technology development and our business practices, and provide a unique customer experience through our ability to provide an intimate yet professional service.
The Company
Synectic Design Ltd has been designing and manufacturing industrial process control and measurement instrumentation and systems since 1993. Our skilled and dedicated team pride themselves in supplying what the customer requires, when the customer requires it at the most competitive price.
The people
Our team is lead by Brian Tonge. Brian has worked at the highest level of research and development in aerospace electronics before becoming the chief project engineer on the first microprocessor based mass spectrometers. The knowledge he gained in these highly critical areas of technology he now brings to industrial measurement and control.
The market we serve
Our products are used by industries as diverse as concrete mixing, food manufacturing, structural engineering, furniture testing, the motor industry and building projects. Companies include: Pioneer, RMC, La Farge Redland, Tarmac, Bistro, McVities, Budweiser, Snackhouse Foods.
Projects that incorporate some of our products include: The construction of the Challenge of Materials Bridge in the Science Museum London; rail companies use our hand held instruments to check brakes on trains. Formula One racing teams use our amplifiers in load cells to set up wheels, while the FIA weigh Formula One cars with equipment incorporating our electronics; the Motor Industry Research Authority tests the stresses on production cars with our equipment. The Furniture Industry Research Authority also use our products to test seats. The Kingspan group use our instruments in four of their plants with fully computerised chemical blending and routing to our design.
The service we give
We do supply instruments on a one off basis to small manufacturers who use them in their production processes but generally we work in close partnership with various companies that incorporate our instruments in their designs. For example Briggs Automation Ltd who manufacture engineering systems providing turnkey solutions. In this way we refine our products to meet their engineering criteria.
In the case of the more complex process control instruments we train end user's staff (where necessary) how to operate the equipment, providing the best possible technical support. Our service includes complete technical support via our website along with a technical help line for further problems.
Our customers express their confidence in our professionalism when they refer their customers to us for particularly complex issues. They know they can rely upon our integrity with no fear of compromising their commercial position. Their customer will remain their customer; we will not allow them to be side stepped by an end user buying directly from us. We use our core range where possible but will design to meet a need when appropriate.
A number of our customers have provided feedback on the service we provide.
The products
We can offer a wide range of instruments to measure flow, weight, load and temperature. From simple hopper, bag and drum filling applications to complex multi recipe and routing systems incorporating PCs. All controllers can be linked to printers and have data logging facilities. The complementary range of products that we offer is a versatile range of load cell amplifiers, from tiny PCB's that will fit in-cell through to an intelligent digital load cell that will send data in digital format straight to a PC. Also an intelligent I/O unit Din rail mountable that can accept switch inputs, analogue inputs and switch relay outputs. As well as the instruments at the core of the business we can write software to interface with PCs, PLCs and existing instrumentation. The data sheets give information about the products that form the core of what we can offer. However our strength lies in the fact that we can modify our products to suit your specific technical requirements.
One reason why our customers return to us is because with our products they benefit from excellent reliability. Less than one in a thousand (or 0.1%) of our products are returned with any type of design or manufacturing fault.
All of our products are manufactured in the UK and designed to meet EC regulations on EMC.
